I have been in the field of forensic science for 14 years. I currently work at Costa Mesa Police Department (CMPD) as the CSI Supervisor. I was hired by CMPD in August 2019 and oversee the crime scene and latent print disciplines.
Prior to working at CMPD, I was hired as a Lead Forensic Specialist at Orange County Crime Lab in 2011. with assignments in the CSI field unit where I responded to major and minor crimes. I was a CSI Explorer Advisor for the Orange County Sheriff Department CSI Division from 2013-2019. I was also an instructor at the Orange County Sheriff’s Academy, University of Long Beach CSI certificate program.
Per professional development, I am a member of the International Association of Identification (IAI), California State Division IAI, and Southern California Association of Fingerprint Officers (SCAFO).
An interesting fact, I have an identical twin sister who works as a Deputy Sheriff at Orange County Sheriff Department and my mother recently retired as a Fire Captain with Orange County Fire Authority. These women stand as strong support systems for me.
Besides my occupation, I am at the verge of completing my Masters in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership at the University of San Diego and I do enjoy giving community presentations such as National Night Out and Citizens Academy.
