I have worked in law enforcement for over 35 years. I am currently a Forensic Identification Specialist II with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. I started my career as a Sheriff’s Communication Operator and 911 Dispatcher. 25 years of my service has been in the Forensic Science Discipline in the Latent Print Section. And within this time, I have been assigned to the Chemical Processing Unit for 15 years and equally assisted in the training program.
I have completed numerous specialized courses and have extensive experience as a Latent Print Examiner and Crime Scene Investigator. I am also a court-qualified expert witness in CSI and Latent Prints. My duties include processing a variety of major crime scenes such as homicides, deputy/officer-involved shootings, assaults with deadly weapons, sexual assaults, and robberies. In these cases, I have completed numerous fingerprint comparisons as a Latent Print Examiner.
I am currently the President of the California State Division of the International Association for Identification, an active member of the International Association for Identification, a Past President and the current historian of the Southern California Association of Fingerprint Officers, a member the California Homicide Investigators Association, and a past board member of the International Biometric Association.
I stay current in the field by enrolling in relevant local and national training classes taught by professionals within specific disciplines. Outside my love for forensics, I enjoy traveling.
